What is short-term therapy and how does the treatment process work?

Short-term therapy provides confidential conversational support to help navigate life’s challenges, crises, and personal development. It is designed for mental health challenges that are not yet severe or long-standing. Short-term therapy can also serve as a preventative measure, promoting mental well-being. Quick access to therapy saves the client’s energy, and no diagnosis or doctor’s referral is needed to start the therapy.

Solution-focused therapy – focusing on your strengths

Solution-focused therapy is a positive, resource-oriented approach that helps clients identify and strengthen their own abilities. Therapy can take place individually, with couples, families, or groups. The primary focus is on the present and the future, with less emphasis on the past unless necessary.

Short-term therapy is highly flexible – sometimes only a few sessions are enough, and the client defines the issues they want to address. The number of sessions typically ranges from 1 to 20, but longer therapy relationships are also possible. The frequency and duration of sessions are tailored to the client’s needs without requiring a pre-determined commitment.

In the first session, the client’s situation is assessed, and the suitability of the therapy and therapist is evaluated. The therapy process then progresses based on the client’s individual needs.

Trust and interaction form the foundation of therapy. All conversations are strictly confidential.
